Ok guys. I need your help. im wanting to run linux on my fileserver, just a little K62-500mhz. Ive looked into BeatrIX www.watsky.net.

Also - if at all possible id like to be able to run it from cd instead of full on installing to hdd, that way if i need to use windows for whatever reasons, i can without having to do a dual boot.

My roomie and I use Damn Small Linux (D.S. Linux) at home for this sort of thing. On an old AMD 500mhz system.

Hmmm I'd have to google, so you should too.

Its less than a 100mb install tho and can just run in virtual memory.

IIRC it is made by Knoppix to be an even smaller bootable version.
