Back in '00-'01 I tried putting flyers for the OLP up at OU. I think I put up about 200 or so. I don't think we got a single person from those flyers.

I think a lot of the problem is generational: the young kids are NOT growing up playing PC games......they are all console doinks and very few migrate over to PC's. _________________ K-SWISS Power cologne. Who knew you could bottle the scent of boner?

Even then there should be enough among OKC to fill up the venue.

Honestly if I get back in it would be just to admin things.
I had more fun keeping the LAN fired up w/ TSI than I did actually LANning.
Though I have been itching for some Neverwinter Nights. It's Diamond on GOG for $10, you could damn near play it on an iPhone these days.

I wish NWN and player made modules would have taken off like they had hoped...... _________________ K-SWISS Power cologne. Who knew you could bottle the scent of boner?

When I was still LANning in Chicago, the best LANs I went to were what we called the "Versus LANs." Essentially, the host would invite 16 people to the LAN, with teams being picked before the lan (usually a captain picking the members sort of deal). The same teams would play 3-5 games (usually on a pre-defined schedule), with several rounds per game, and keep a running tally of points for the entire day. We didn't do prizes, but bragging rights until the next Versus LAN was all we had. And it was fun!
You guys might try something like this, but it would require some pre-planning and communication on the boards to get everyone on the same page and have all the games pre-installed and updated BEFORE the LAN so snafus weren't too much of a problem. _________________ site5 hosting • facebook • flickr

I like the pre-organized teams idea, and as far as the driving goes, I am having fun and I come from Tulsa
