Zen Cart  Reply with quote

Decided to install Zen Cart. Everything is installed. I am getting the error "There was a security error when trying to login." I haven't been able to find a clear answer as to what will fix this. I am using the sample cart just to play with before I build my own off this. I can't get into the admin side. I know I am using the correct username and password since it will tell me when I am not. Please advise. Thanks guys.

Do you have an htaccess file that is locking down the directory? What type of host/app server is it on?

I don't think it would be a htaccess file. It is hosted on my Mac. I activated the preinstalled Apache. Edited the config file to get PHP. Installed teh DMG for MySQL. Then installed Zen Cart on top of that.

Error message: “There was a security error when trying to login.”

FIX: http://tutorials.zen-cart.com/index.php?article=312

ALL new templates need the following code added to their tpl_login_default.php file

line 50: <?php echo zen_draw_hidden_field(‘securityToken’, $_SESSION['securityToken']); ?>
line 79: <?php echo zen_draw_hidden_field(‘securityToken’, $_SESSION['securityToken']); ?>
(Original master file is here: root > includes > templates > template_default > templates > tpl_login_default.php)

Well I fixed it. Just scrapped everything and reinstalled after looking in every possible spot. Did the same install again and this time it worked. I don't know what the difference is but it works so I'll take it. Thanks for your continued help.

Not PEBKAC. I actually just figured out the difference. I have it cacheing in my DB instead of a temp folder.
