I know, I used to go to the one with the cows by Sam's Club, after spending all night at First Saturday.
Lots of fake teaser deals, though. They'd run something they had like 2 of on sale in the paper for half price, just to draw people in.
I didn't play that game, if they didn't have it, I wasn't going to buy something else instead.
It was nice to get good prices on CPUs and memory though, but then it got to where you'd get re-wrapped returns.
At QuakeCon almost a decade ago some guy from California was talking about how much he liked the Fry's in Dallas. He needed parts desperately for QCon, but he didn't want to go to Fry's because they were horrible near his home in California. The Fry's here was nice, things were organized, staff checked to see if he needed help and they helped him find things. He was in shock. His buddy, based upon his report, did not believe that he had gone to the same chain of stores as the CA Fry's. LOL
I still want a $200 i7-920, though. Come on Microcenter!
