Having not given two fucks about what is fastest, I no longer have a perspective on what model numbers are better than others. Basically fed up with games being shitty on my AMD card when they're released and fixed after the time I'm done playing them. Nvidia it is. What should I get? _________________ Blargle Flarg Bergah Merg

Lowest I would suggest is a GTX560, they can be had in the $250 range.

The GTX 460 is still a very capable card. Make sure you get it with 1GB. I have the MSI twin frozen and it has been a very good card for me. They were recently on sale for about $130-140 after rebate.

Which 460? I'm thinking about SLI if yours is compatible with mine.

That would be the same card I have, I'm very happy with it. I'm waiting on my stuff to upgrade to sandy bridge to show up, and then I'll know how it really performs. _________________ this is the internet.

GTX 560 or GTX 560Ti?
I'm also looking to upgrade. Not really sure of the difference between the two.

the 560 Ti is a better card the regular one is just less performance....Nvidia is likening it back to the days when there performance cards carried the Ti name. _________________ Core I7 4790K @ 4.7 Ghz

The 460 is quite a good card for Folding@Home as well. Seen some good deals on those lately.

Bumping an old thread to see what you guys who were looking to upgrade ended up with?
I take it from the comments above that ATI/AMD still has craptastic drivers?
Looks like the 560 is *the* bang for the buck card at the moment? _________________ K-SWISS Power cologne. Who knew you could bottle the scent of boner?

I'm gonna be ordering a 560TI here in a few days. The amd drivers just keep pissing me off. I think 'craptastic' is a good definition.

Would I be silly putting a Nvidia card into a AMD AM3+ Mobo set up? Rumor has it the new bulldozer's will have built in GPU's - since I am going mATX and only have 1 slot - I am worried I might shoot myself in the foot.
But then again, I would hate to blow my foot off having to deal with Radeon drivers all the time lol! _________________ K-SWISS Power cologne. Who knew you could bottle the scent of boner?

Personally I'd go with a i7 2600k instead of amd. But those are a little more spendy.

Yeah, all around more spendy.......and I can't find anything that supports needing i7 over Phenom II for gaming...... _________________ K-SWISS Power cologne. Who knew you could bottle the scent of boner?
