You just need to get a bunch of 32" LCD's and fill the wall. We tried to talk Goat into doing that, but no, they were for a customer.

Yeah its off of craigslist the guy had it loaded with a bunch of older servers and stuff and I called him and was able to convince him to just sell me the rack itself.

btw I see a lot of good deals on eBay.com for older Opteron boxes
just search for "rackable" under servers. A lot of them are "Make Offer" and the guy will take less to get them out the door more quickly.

Mostly S940 opterons, but some of them are the Dual Core 940s.
Some are the newer 4-digit opteron models.

Right now I see
2U 2x AMD Opteron 250 8GB RAM RAID 1TB Rackable Server (4x250GB drives) for $225 + $40 shipping. I know people who have offered him $150 for these and he bit on it.

Get yourself a SAN, and you could make a nice little cluster with those bad boys on the cheap.

SANs don't really decline in price like the servers do. The price per GB is still really high on the older units.
Add in the FC-HBA cost of older SANs, the FC Switches and fiber jumpers and you really end up with a high cost.

On the other hand you can use a Norco 4020, throw in 20 1TB drives, a modest system with 4 or 8GB of RAM and a quad port GbE NIC and you have a phenomenal iSCSI target for not a lot of $$$
