Ordered a few things from Jab-Tech on Monday morning and they arrived early this morning. Have to love having a local online shop this close for those tight timelines.
1x XSPC Rasa Black Acetal Waterblock
4x Bitspower Matte Black G1/4" thread 1/2" Barb Fitting
8x Black Plastic Tubing Clamp - Large
I needed either a new mounting kit for my Swiftech Apogee GT, since I sold my Apogee XT Extreme , or a new waterblock and I couldn't pass this one up. It's got extremely good performance and at only $50 it's easily one of the most affordable waterblocks out there. Also does not hurt that it's a nice matte black which works wonderfully for my color scheme and looks FANTASTIC with the new black barbs I bought for it. It's not flashy at all, but that's precisely the point!
Here you can kind of see the micro-fins that have now become commonplace on all of the high-end waterblocks. I believe it was Heatkiller that pioneered it and then copied first by Swiftech with the Apogee XT Extreme; it pushes the boundaries of what traditional CNC machines can produce on these blocks without A LOT of manufacturing defects.
Not the most perfectly polished surface I have seen, but it will more than suffice until I decide to lap my CPU.
Finally, here's my BEAST of a radiator that has been lying dormant for far too long, the Feser X-Changer Triple 120mm Xtreme Performance RAWR! I'm going to swap the puny Swiftech 3x120mm radiator that's currently installed in Cobalt with this beast. Just looking at this thing gives me wood, no lie.
Tomorrow will be a very busy day. I have to tear down Zero-Point and Cobalt so that I can swap parts once my new motherboard arrives. Somewhere in there I also have to drain the coolant loop so that I can remove my northbridge block and swap the Rad and CPU block. Once all of that is done, it's going to be a lot of fun running all of the wiring again from scratch but such is the way it goes for people stupid enough to change gear this often like I do.
Still though, I cannot wait to see how this board looks in the case!
