I don't know if it's the motherboard or the processor, I didn't pull my P4 and check.

Probably the processor though.

That sux dude. To commiserate with you My 1.8" 30GB Hitatchi ZIF Pata HDD I bought off of ebay for $16 shipped doesn't seem to work. I ordered a 5cm ZIF "flip" cable from Hong Kong just to see if its my "standard" ZIF cable thats the problem. Unfortunately, that's literally on the slow boat from china, so I might know sometime within the next century. Didn't think anyone in town would probably have that on hand.
