anyone see Avatar yet?
Is it worth going to? I heard it was a big "tree huger" fest with cat people and a super in your face "green" morality. _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.

It's supposed to be great. Vapor and I tried to see it today only to find out that it was almost 3 hours long and we didn't have time. Definitely going to catch it next week some time. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

I haven't seen it. And honestly, with the way people are foaming at the mouth about it, I am slightly turned off to the whole thing. As far as I can tell from trailers and interviews and such, it's just another overblown and overfunded hollywood rimjob.
Maybe I'll rent it someday...probably not.

I thought the movie was awesome. I see more parallels drawn to imperialism than tree huggery. _________________ Blargle Flarg Bergah Merg

Yeah I noticed more similarities with American Indians plight than anything. The aliens even look like Native Americans.
Was good though.....CGI still wasn't as good as TF2, but with all the CGI they had, it is pretty amazing, but not perfect. _________________ K-SWISS Power cologne. Who knew you could bottle the scent of boner?

I admit the 3d version was an overdose of eye crack....
I see both ties to Native Americans and saving the environment.....But the thing didnt care for was how they depicted the military as a bunch of mindless killing machines....not to mention I think the marines broke just about every article of the Law of Armed Conflict during the film
But oh well it was a good action flick..... _________________ Core I7 4790K @ 4.7 Ghz

They weren't Marines, they were ex-Marines. They were working for a corporation, not a government. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

Exactly, they were mercs, BUT it was not made totally clear..... _________________ K-SWISS Power cologne. Who knew you could bottle the scent of boner?

I thought it was pretty clear, as the narration mentioned mercs 3 times in the first 20 min. _________________ Blargle Flarg Bergah Merg

Yeah, I'd expect an organized group of mercenaries to look like military. I think that was done for realism and not to degrade those that serve in our armed forces. _________________ Blargle Flarg Bergah Merg
