I picked up Mirror's Edge for $5 last month when it was on sale, picked up Stalker and Defense Grid though this time around.

The best deals are on the bundles it seems, awesome prices.

Everyone make sure you check Steam at least once a day after 11am, new deals every day. I picked up Cogs for myself and for my nephews today for $1.99!

I'm gonna go broke on this Steam sale. I just noticed that not all of the Developer Packs make you buy the packs entirely to get the savings. I just picked up Red Faction Guerilla on the cheap and Ghost Recon pack and Prince of Persia pack.

Bioshock for $4.99 on Steam now! Apparently Prey sold their requisite number of discounted copies so Bioshock took it's place for the rest of the day. If you don't buy this game you are a pedophile!

GRID is $12.49 currently on Steam. Smoking deal for anyone looking for more sim-racing. Personally I like it alot better than Shift.

GRID is 100% arcade racer. There is nothing sim about it.

SHIFT is definitely the only "sim" in the NFS library.

I picked up Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena for like $18.

Can you still destroy a crown vic by ramming it with a Porsche and keep driving said Porsche?

Whatever your definition of sim is, they are both far further into the sim realm than arcade racer and they are both excellent games.

Anyways, Steam sale today looks like it's a rehash of the earlier days. Killing Floor for $4.99, Torchlight for $4.99 and Defense Grid for $2.49. If you like Tower Defense much, I recommend Defense Grid, it's pretty slow to start out but it picks up in 3-4 levels.

That depends on whether or not damage is set to full or cosmetic.

Judging a car game's "sim-ness" based on car damage would mean you would have to exclude the entire Gran Tourismo series, which would mean excluding THE quintessential car sim racing game franchise.

I don't think I'm ready to do that.

Not to mention GT isn't as great at the whole sim thing as people love to make out. That game drives me nuts with the whole "greased tires" feeling. I've talked to quite a few people that would know for a fact that think NFS: Shift is closer to realism than GT.
