Windows 7 and XP mode
So I just tried to install the XP mode stuff for Windows 7. Imagine my surprise when it wouldn't run. Why might you ask? Because, apparently, the Core2Duo proc (E7200) I've got doesn't have hardware virtualization support (VT-x). WTH?!? My friggin laptop has VT-x!!....
Now I'm pissed. I've never needed it before so I never realized I didn't have it. Grrr

Yah, when I first read that was a requirement I thought there would be a nice blip up in Intel processor sales. _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.

I installed 7 last night. I haven't installed my games yet, but I'll tell ya what I think of it later. Seemed quick enough from what I did do on it. _________________ Blargle Flarg Bergah Merg

It's great for gaming as long as you aren't running SLI, I believe it's not having issues with Crossfire either. So far though the driver support for SLI is just abominable, talking 20-30 fps drop in games from Vista x64 to 7 x64 in games that shouldn't even need SLI. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

Well, I run one video card, as I decided sli and crossfire were wastes of money a while back. I should be fine. I'll try to install some games sunday. _________________ Blargle Flarg Bergah Merg
