Windows 7
Anyone been using this? My Vista partition got hosed so I am getting Win7 Pro from MSDN as I type this. Any thoughts on the matter? Any new features worth pointing out? Any pit-falls to avoid? _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.

It's like Vista meets a better scheduler meets KDE 4.2

Installed it and began to mess with it. Didn't have a lot of time since I was finally don installing it with about 30 minutes left in the day. An important app at where I work is 16-bit and will not work in Vista or 7 natively. I really wanted to see how "XP Mode" worked and how it handled it. Virtual-PC seems to work a little better than a VirtualBox VM when it comes to accessing attached USB peripherals. And "XP Mode" is just a Virtual-PC hard drive image of an XP box. Will have to play with it more tomorrow. I don't like that you can't revert to "Classic" or Windows 2000 "look" for the start menu. Guess I'm gonna have to learn the "new" look after all. heh. I have to say that it really does feel a little snappier. You certainly get to a usable desktop much quicker then XP. Could be because its a fresh install tho, I guess, heh. I also havn't installed anything on it yet except for the "XP Mode" Virtual PC and my 16-bit ap within it. _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.

Win7 on a decent SSD is pretty kickass. Been using it full time since beta.
