Also keep in mind when pricing it that there are NEW, much cheaper, much lower power, SINGLE GPU, DX11 cards out now that come close enough for my money to matching this thing in performance. (ie the 5850)
Realistically, depending on your game, with that $260 5850, your talking at 4xAA and 8xAF at 25x16 a difference on the order of about 10fps at max settings. When your talking about frames per second being up in the 50's or above, and in some games in the hundreds, the difference in 10 fps is really not that noticeable. Or for $20 more than his price he is asking one could get the 5870 which will beat it in terms of performance in every way
So, again, also not wanting to be a dick here, but your friend needs to understand that his card is now competing with a whole new line of GPU's at that price point.
I am notoriously a cheapass but, respectfully, that card should sell closer to that 5850 price, possibly lower, to gain a buyer willing to buy it used over a new product with more features. _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.
