So the last couple of weeks my machine has been slowing to a crawl. It felt like it was time for a reinstall, but for the life of me I couldn't remember how long it had been. I thought it was over a year. Boy was I wrong. How about Nov, 2005 Smile

Boy a fresh install feels nice......

So... How long was your longest gaps between installs

Reformat every 3-6 months based on hardware upgrades that force me to do so.

I was about to just the other day because I got loaded up with some nasty viruses but was able to clean everything off.

Bitdefender online scan was wtfamazing.

I haven't reformatted in almost 2 years. No need to. I do however run paid versions of AVG, AdAware and Registry Mechanic. All of which have, knock wood, kept things running smoothly so far.

I have even made major hardware upgrades including just about everything in the computer since formatting. I even moved from AMD to Core 2 Duo without a reformat.
