December LAN Donations to Kids  Reply with quote

Last year at the OLP we took donations for kids for Christmas. It went over really well have I delivered lots of toys to the Citizens Caring for Children right before Christmas. We tried to do it through Toys for Tots but they had a cut-off date before our December LAN, so I think we will do it again this year for the Citizens Caring for Children. This organization helps victims of child abuse and neglect.

Nothing sucks worse than not only being abused, but also forgotten as a child at Christmas, so if you can contribute, please do so. This is absolutely optional, if you can't afford it, we understand. Price of the object des not matter. Spend what you can.

Here are the rules for gifts, PLEASE follow them when donating:

Infants:
Soft baby dolls
Educational infant toys
Stuffed Animals
Big Blocks

Young Girls:
Dolls and Accessories
Toy kitchen cookware
Tea party sets
Educational toys/games
Arts and craft projects

Young Boys:
Toy construction trucks
Rescue Hero Action Figures
Legos and Lincoln Logs
Toy Handyman Sets
Snap together models
Sports Equipment
Hand held games

NO violent or scary action figures, toy guns, knives, or other such toys. PLEASE DO NOT WRAP your gift. Bring it to the December LAN and we will have a box to put them in. I will deliver them on the following monday for distribution at Christmas.

Thanks to everyone in advance.

yeah, unfortunately for us, they only take em unwrapped, and new-in-the-box, so there's no safety concerns for the kiddies.

Also to clear up any confusion, this does not waive your entry fee. It is totally voluntary.

Hey if you have old toys, donate them to Goodwill or Habitat for Humanity.

Just a reminder. We will be accepting gift donations at the door. If you want to just do cash I can deliver that too. I'll have a drop box or area at the entry on the Dec 20th LAN. Thanks to everyone who participates!

I remember seeing this thing on the news a few weeks back talking about how there are some toys out there that are too violent for kids, donate those. Smile

I already did my toy donation to the Christmas Store in Guthrie. But I'll bet I can get my brother to donate some shizzle.
