New case help  Reply with quote

I just got this case for my new LAN build.

The top handles are not rounded at the edges and are really rough on the hands. I would like to craft a suitcase like handle that would run between the 2 plastic handles.

Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Alternate ideas: you could probably have something made by a leather shop.

You could stitch up some nylong webbing, I don't know where you'd get quality stuff though. Add in some buckles and it would be detachable.

Goahed is a dealer for their stuff. The handle on the Gear Grip is a foot long though, so if the space between the handles on the case is too small, it won't work.

Sand the rough edge down, or get manly hands.

I put something almost exactly like this on one of my old LAN cases. (The one I used looked a little more substantial than this one) Worked out great. Make sure you put some wide washers on the underside (inside the case). Cheap and works well. Might not look awesome, but hey, I'm cheap. heh

I made a carry handle out of web strap for a receiver that I carry out to our bar for parties. We could do the same for your case. I have lots left over...

I second the paracord idea, but add that you sand it just a little first then paracord both handles.

I'm changing my entire build out next month and will be looking for a way to handle my case. The one I have now has a handle on it, but, the one i'm getting has nothing. I've been looking a gear grip as well. Thinking i'd order a monitor carrier and see how I like that before I look into a tower carry case.

Carrying that by the "handles" is probably not a good idea anyways. They look like they are more for decoration than anything....I could see one breaking in the middle and you dropping it.

The handles are quite sturdy and can easily support the weight of the rig itself. Some reinforcement wouldn't hurt though.

Ill look into all these options as I get closer to assembling the PC. Gotta wait for the tax return to get in before I finish it up Sad

Thanks for the help!

I still suggest getting manly hands. Anything else will uglify that case. Smile

Unless you wrap it in fur that is........

I thought about foam grips for it. I really would like a one hand carry for it though. Reduces back and forth trips from the car.

Im lazy...

Get a gear grip from mike, don't have to mod the thing in any way then....
