Need Asset Management software  Reply with quote

We've tried a few include SAManage.

Hosted solutions are fine. Discovery tools are cool but not completely neccessary. We need to be able to track computers and peripherals. Assign users and be able to search ALL fields. SAManage sucks because you can only search by a few fields. You can't search note or even by user. It has potential to be a good piece of software, but right now it lacks functionality and therefore blows.

We would really like some software that does discovery, or be able to run an app on the computer which updates information in the asset manager. Grabs computer name, mac, windows version, that kind of stuff. Be able to search all fields of the assets. Store purchase price.

This software doesn't have to be free, but relatively low cost solutions are fine. This software will be used to track roughly 200 computers, and peripherals.

We used to use an access database, but we hate access and the accountants have know clue how to use it. Everytime we train someone, they quit. So it needs to be somewhat easy to use for a novice computer user.

If you sell or know someone that sells this kind of thing, we'd be glad to talk with you.

Pretty much. Being able to add other devices other than just computers is a must though. Printers, a few linux servers and some other stuff too.

none taken, it only lasted about 5 minutes when i was looking for a cheaper monitoring package, but it somewhat fit your requirement list!

we actually use Kaseya MSP edition for management and inventory of clients, but its pretty expensive so I didn't suggest it Wink
