New toy at work  Reply with quote

In order to help make it easier on my eyes to work I got a new bigger monitor today at work. A Dell Ultrasharp 3011. My god.... 30" of beauty. I'm gonna need to figure out a way to keep this forever.

Be careful, before long you will have 2 of them. I don't understand how people get by with anything less than 1 30".

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_T220/T221_LCD_monitors

The monitor's native refresh rate is 41 Hz.

Is that the original stand? I have more 3008's then 3011's, but I thought all of them sat higher than that.

Yup. The bottom edge of the screen will almost sit flush against the stand.

Hrmm, I guess this 3008 will to. I was thinking that last time I tried they had the tension on the stand too tight and it would always spring back up. Must have just been a few bad stands. I even remembering tearing apart the spring part of the stand and trying to find a way to loosen it.

Now you need some sort of auto-tiling thing for Windows

I spy a VS2010 window, didn't know you were coding now. The Wave is an awesome development keyboard. I've got one at the office and now using my backup one at home since my son poured water on my G15.

spring tension also dies with age, more quickly so if the spring is only somewhat compressed.

Yeah, VB.net talking to Oracle databases. It's what I've been doing to pay the bills for the last 8 years Smile

Mostly webform. I'd like to play with mvc but we don't have any new projects spooling up anytime soon and what I'm maintaining/modifying is rather entrenched.
I've done some winform and console apps but those are mostly just in-house tools to help me out with some of my maintenance tasks.

I couldn't imagine now having a new project coming down the pipeline. I'm currently in the middle of 3 different projects that I'm time sharing right now and I have no less than 10 that I'd be putting time into right now if I could get the go ahead.
