ordered a 5870 should be in by the end of the week but the question should i purchase another one? I run most games at 1920x1200

I dunno, I run with one 4850. Things run fine at 1920 x 1200 for the most part.

From what I've been reading with pretty much any current game out there you should be fine with just one at that resolution, even with high to max eye candy and 4xAA.

Edit: Well, I take that back. Crysis Warhead looks to bring anything at max settings to its knees at that resolution, even crossfired 5870's. You might just want to look at some reviews out there. I think The Tech Report does a pretty thorough job.

Well, from what I've read Crysis just does not play well with ATI cards period, including the 58xx. Not to say that it runs great on nVidia cards, but by comparison it's just not optimized for them.

Other than Crysis though, a single 5870 should be more than enough power at that res.

one is never enough man.....hell i can't wait to upgrade my slow Sli 285's..... Very Happy

I'm joking....but yeah I think you will be fine with one.....so throw it in when it comes and play everything you can.....if your unhappy with the performance you can always order another down the road.....

i have another question does anyone think i will bottle neck the pcie bandwith since im running a 790gx which xfire at 8x/8x ?

As I recall, even a GTX295 wasn't bottlenecked running on an 8x slot on HardForum benchmarks so I would think that a 5870 wouldn't be in trouble their either.
